I loved all the old colonial buildings in Santa Domingo. I was walking down the street and this lady waved to me and said hello. When I go out onto the streets to take pictures, all I have to do is stay open to what the street, or people bring to me. When I have that interpersonal connection, they are just as much a part of the photographic process as I am.
The good thing about places where people put bars over their windows is that kids love to get up and play in the windows. There you have the making of a good picture- subject, framing and light.
For Easter, there was a parade that brought out all the icons of the people who took part in the Easter story. I think that this centurian had a piercing stare.
You"ve got to see this!
