Halfeti and Rumkale, Turkey

Halfeti is a small village on the banks of the Euphrates river. Rumkale is a very old Castle that is up the river a couple of miles. I'll never forget, when we arrived in Halfeti nobody could open the town's one hotel up, because they couldn't find the keys. Apparently nobody had been there to visit for a while. Not to worry though, when the keys were found, we had a nice room with a balcony that looked over the city square.

Halfeti has an abandoned mosque. I explored it early one morning and even climbed to the top of its minaret. That was a first for me.
