I 've been playing around with adding textures to some of the photos that I've taken recently. Of course, these give the pictures a kind of weathered, or dinged-up look. Of particular interest to me, is how a texture gives the viewer anther tool to interpret the photo by. For instance, in the top photo there appears to be a light over the city. In fact, in the original picture, there is only a dark space above the city.
To me, light could be negative. It could be the haze of CO2, or it could be light pollution. However, it could also be the light of glory, resting above the city of Seattle. Visible only to those whose faith is strong. This is a drawbridge, but to me it looks more like the guard tower of a prison. I thought it was pretty cool that I got a picture of the bridge when it was open.
You"ve got to see this!
