24 Hours on the Olympic Peninsula

I found a 24 hour window in my schedule and decided that I needed to get out of Seattle and explore the Olympic National Park.
Basically, I drove, stopped the car and took pictures of the sunset, drove some more, slept, took pictures of the sunrise, drove home.
I did my research and figured that I could reach Lake Crescent at right about sunset. I had about an hour to walk up and down the shore scoping out the good places to take pictures when the light got better. In the picture above, I had to wait because there was a group of people crowding this spot, and they had there boats tied up here. I stood in thigh-deep water to take this picture.

This is a river running into the lake. I tried to match the shape of the shore with the shape of the horizon.
The dock at the Lake Crescent Lodge.
After it I had finished taking pictures at Lake Crescent (10:30), I drove over to Ruby Beach. I arrived there at about midnight, cooked dinner and tried to get some sleep. I set my alarm for 4:15 that morning. I didn't get much sleep because I always get scared sleeping alone in my car.
There isn't any camping around this beach, so I had the place to myself all morning.

I always like to see a place go from completely black to daylight, and all the changes in between.I'd like to take pictures here at sunset.
Going out onto these rocks there were all kinds of underwater canyons full of anemones and starfish.

Wow...your photography never ceases to amaze me. I noticed in the post above you are doing something with your flash or strobe...I so need to learn how to use mine. Seems so complicated to me.
